          A 40-year-old business with a friendly ambiance
          In business for forty years in the Shin-Okubo district, Ozakyo is a friendly and homey restaurant. Patrons are greeted warmly by a grandmother in her eighties, and the restaurant is always bustling with Korean students who miss the flavors of home, as well as locals who simply love Korean food. The elderly woman’s son has taken over the restaurant, but she still prepares all the food to keep the flavors consistent. From à la carte dishes, such as gamjatang and nakji-bokkeum, to side dishes, all foods are made according to traditional recipes. The dim lights and log walls add to the inviting ambiance.


          Comforting, deep-flavored broth and spicy barbecue
          The favorites of Korean students are the yukgaejang, which is based on a deep-flavored broth of ox bones seasoned with leek, garlic and powdered red pepper and served with shredded beef, the sundubu with a spicy and light taste, and the gamja-tang. Their samgyeopsal (pork belly meat) smoked in a recently-installed barbecue is also receiving good reviews from locals. The meat is left to tenderise in a marinade of gochujang (red pepper paste) and ground fruits. Trimmed of any excessive fat, the meat is savory, yet has a lingering sweet and spicy taste. Savored with palate-cleansing pickled ginger and julienned leek, Ozakyo’s flavorful samgyeopsal leaves patrons clamoring for more.

           

           

          創業40年のアットホームな雰囲気
          新大久保で40年の歴史を刻んできた烏鵲橋は、韓国人の厚い人情が感じられる韓国料理店。80代のおばあさんが笑顔で迎えてくれるこの店は、故郷の味が恋しくなった韓国人留学生や韓国料理が大好きという日本人でいつも賑わっている。今は息子さんが店を切り盛りしているが、料理だけはいまだにおばあさんが直接調理指導しているので味は昔のまま。カムジャタン、タコの炒め物といった単品料理から付け合せのおかず類にいたるまで、どれもが韓国伝統の調理法で作られている。また、ほのかな照明と木の温もりが感じられるインテリアも心を和ませてくれる。


          熱々のスープとピリ辛のバーベキュー料理
          牛骨をじっくり煮込んだ特製スープにネギ、ニンニク、唐辛子粉などで味付けしコクと旨味を出したユッケジャン、ピリ辛でありながらまろやかな純豆腐チゲ、そしてカムジャタンは、韓国人留学生の間で大人気のメニーだ。最近は専用のバーベキュー設備を使ったバーベキューサムギョプサルを始めた。これは留学生だけでなく日本人のお客さんからの評判も上々で、果汁入りのコチュジャンソースに漬け込んだ豚肉のバーベキューは余分な脂が落ち香ばしくかつ甘辛いのが特徴である。生姜の漬物、ネギの千切りと一緒に食べると、さらにおいしくいただける。

           

           

          40년 역사를 자랑하는 친숙한 분위기
          신오쿠보 일대에서 40년 역사를 이어온 <오작교>는 푸근하면서도 정이 가득한 한식당이다. 80대 고령의 주인 할머니가 반갑게 맞이해주는 곳으로 고향의 맛을 느끼고 싶어하는 한국인 유학생들과 한식을 좋아하는 현지인들로 늘 북적거린다. 지금은 아들이 대를 이어 운영하지만 여전히 할머니의 손끝에서 모든 음식이 만들어지기 때문에 맛은 변함이 없다. 감자탕, 낙지볶음 같은 일품요리부터 밑반찬에 이르기까지 한국의 전통적인 조리법을 지키고 있다. 은은한 조명과 통나무로 꾸민 내부 인테리어가 친근한 느낌을 더한다.


          얼큰한 국물 맛과 매콤한 바비큐
          소뼈를 오래 푹 곤 뒤 파, 마늘, 고춧가루 등을 넣고 끓인 특제 육수로 진한 맛을 낸 육개장과 진하면서도 뒷맛이 깔끔한 순두부, 감자탕은 한국인 유학생들이 즐겨 찾는 메뉴. 얼마 전부터는 전용 바비큐 시설을 갖추고 훈향이 가득한 삼겹살 바비큐를 내놓고 있는데 현지인들의 반응이 꽤 좋은 편이다. 각종 과일을 갈아 만든 고추장 소스에 재어두었다가 구워내는데, 기름기가 쏙 빠져 담백하면서도 뒷맛은 약간 매콤달콤하다. 고기에 생강절임, 파채를 얹어 먹으면 많이 먹어도 물리지 않는다.
